making changes to computers

You might recall that the security on our computers, DeepFreeze, stops any changes made from being permanent. If there is a change you'd like to make permanent, you'll have to disable the software. Here is the procedure:

1. Hold the 'Shift' key and double-click the blue and white icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
2. Enter the password for DeepFreeze (found in the red "Computers" binder).
3. Select "Thaw after reboot."
4. Reboot the machine.
5. When the computer comes to, make your changes. Note that if it is a major change, you might have to enter into the administrative mode to make them.
6. Once you have made your changes, reboot the computer.
7. When the computer comes to again, see if your changes are still there.

These instructions, along with the password, can be found in said red binder.
