Reference & Magazine staff: We have decided that when a SRP participant comes in to record a book they've read and collect a ticket, we will give them an additional drawing ticket if they fill out a "Western Springs Reads" review sheet on the book.

I would like to suggest that staff members fill out a "Western Springs Reads" book review form for a recently read book and put it in the binder at the Reference Desk, just to get things rolling and give people an idea of what we have in mind.

Reference & Magazine staff: Please remember to cross out the date for Ravinia tickets that you've handed out. I had some people deliberate for 10 minutes and when they finally decided, the tickets weren't there. Another set was missing as well. Thanks.

When I try to load books onto iPod, things don't happen the way the instructions say they will. For instance, I couldn't figure out how to get a list of what's on the iPod to know whether anything needed deleting. And there is an initial window that comes up that is not explained in the instructions. I think the instructions need to be more specific.

Is it possible yet to do the loading from the Reference computer?

Also, what is the status of the new iPod books? People are asking.

And finally, does loading a book onto iPod qualify as a reference question or as "other"?

We have had a few people in that were not aware we were closed on Sundays in the summer and were wondering what libraries they could go to on Sundays. I called a few libraries and made a list with hours, addresses and phone numbers. I will copy this and leave a few at the reference desk for our patrons.

Books on the LT summer reading list are located on a cart by the window in YA.

When will we start the "Recipe of the Week" and who gets to decide what it is? We now have six recipes in the binder.

Reference and Magazines Staff:
I have printed up a few copies of the Readers Advisory Questionnaire and put them on top of the bookshelves. (It is titled, "Looking for a Good Book?") These should be offered to anyone finishing the Adult Summer Reading Program, if they are interested.
