We will be moving two magazines to different locations in the next couple of weeks.
Parents will be moving to the Parent/Teacher collection in Youth Services and Entertainment Weekly will be moving to the Adult Services magazine collection.

It seems like statistic fell off a bit in November, but I see that they did the previous November, too. Here is what we have for the month:

The 2008 mileage rate from the IRS is 50.5 cents per mile, up from 48.5 in 2007. I put a full article with other special rates on the wiki.

On Sunday, Nancy Long fell on the ice and fractured her right wrist. Today she is seeing a surgeon. She does not know how long she will be out at this point.

Nancy called on Wednesday evening. Her wrist has been set without surgery, but she will be wearing a cast for six weeks. Her arm is swollen at this point, for which she is supposed to keep it elevated. So, she will be out at least into next week. She may come back then, if she can figure out a way to work one handed (with the opposite hand).

She says that she has lots of magazine reading to keep her occupied.

How is Nancy now? It is Sunday, December 16th at 1:02 p.m.

Nancy will be coming to the luncheon on Wednesday, at which time she will test whether she can handle the phone and computer at the reference desk.

Magazine deletion is coming up and we need more large brown paper grocery bags. If you have any please drop them off at the Magazine Desk.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. Ready to push some books and answer reference questions?

Here are just a few news items.

1. Tax forms are out. I put out all of the forms and instructions that we have received so far. All the main federal forms are in, but none of the state forms. I have not seen any reproducible books, which came in February last year. Because of last minute tax changes, those will probably be delayed again this year. We will have to rely on the website.

More of the forms are by my desk, but I have not laid them out nicely yet, as there are other things taking up space.

2. I am posting some January updates to the website today.

3. I will be off on Wednesday for working today.

4. I will be issuing a third draft of the January schedule soon, as Jamie will be helping downstairs on a few more dates.

5. After talking to Anne, I will start looking for a teen librarian.
