Library Policies

Library Mission

The Thomas Ford Memorial Library strives to meet the informational, educational, cultural and recreational needs of the Western Springs community by providing access to a collection of relevant materials, both print and non-print, with the assistance of a courteous professional staff. Emphasis is placed on programs which stimulate interest in and appreciation for reading and learning, services which support educational activities of all, and programs which supplement library resources.

Policy Statements

Library policies are determined by the Board of Trustees in its monthly meetings. A book of current policies is kept at the Checkout, Reference, and Children's Services desks for public viewing.
