Renew an Item

If you have a Thomas Ford Memorial Library card, you have an account on SWAN, which will identify the items you have borrowed, their due dates, and any fines that they have accrued. For more information on getting a library/card and account, look at our Online Library Card Application page.

Check Due Dates/Fines

Finding your due dates and fines is easy.

  1. Sign in to your SWAN account from the SWAN Online Catalog login page. (For instructions on setting up your SWAN account, visit the SWAN Library Network: Library Catalog FAQ.)
  2. Look at the Items Checked Out list.
  3. Look under the heading Status to see due dates and fines of items currently checked out.
  4. To find fines on items already returned, click "unpaid fines and bills" in the yellow box in the left top part of your accounts page.

Renew an Item.

Renewing items is easy.

  1. Sign in to your SWAN account from the SWAN Online Catalog login page. (For instructions on setting up your SWAN account, visit the SWAN Library Network: Library Catalog FAQ.)
  2. Look at the Items Checked Out list.
  3. Check the boxes to the left of the items that you wish to renew.
  4. Click on the Renew Selected button.

The list will automatically update to show you your new due dates.
