How to Find Items in SWAN

Use the search box above to find items by title, author, or keyword. You will find more items using keyword searches, especially if you do not know a complete title. The box above searches all SWAN libraries by default. You may search just the Thomas Ford's collection from the SWAN home page. You may also try an advanced search to narrow your results.

Requesting an Item from Thomas Ford or Getting an Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

You can request, reserve, or put on hold any library material at Thomas Ford or any other SWAN library:

• By using the SWAN catalog
• By calling, emailing, or sending the library an instant message
• By filling out a slip by the Checkout Desk in the Library

You might want to request an item if:

• Thomas Ford's copy is checked out
• Thomas Ford does not own the item
• You want the item pulled and waiting for you at the Checkout Desk when you come into the library

To reserve the item yourself on the catalog, you need a SWAN library account. If you do:

• Find the item you want in the catalog.
• Click the Request button at the top of the page.
• Fill out the Request Verification form and click Submit. You'll need your PIN and library card number. Library staff will contact you when the item is available for you to borrow.
