Meet the Author: Robert Patrick Conlon

Meet local author Robert Conlon and hear about his new book Celtic Knot: An Orphan's Tale of Survival, Family, and Love in Chicago. Celtic Knot is a historical novel that follows eight-year-old Tim, who tragically became an orphan and survived on the rough and tumble streets of Chicago in 1885. The book chronicles Tim’s life which intersected with many important Chicago events, including the Eastland Disaster and the Iroquois Theatre Fire.  

Robert will discuss the true story about his grandfather that inspired the novel, and his experience writing, researching, and having his debut book successfully published. Robert believes that he owes a tremendous amount of gratitude to previous generations for their sacrifices, hard work, and perseverance. Celtic Knot reminds us to never forget our ancestor’s journeys.
